THE WEIGHT OF GOODNESS

What defines a man as a good man
is rarely found in the noise of applause,
or in the spotlight of public praise.
A good man is revealed
in the choices he makes
when no one is watching…
in the sacrifices he carries quietly…
in the integrity he maintains
for reasons no one may ever hear,
understand,
or celebrate.
Goodness is not climbing a high mountain
to wave the flag of morality,
begging the world to notice.
Goodness is the man who walks alone
guided by a compass only he and God can see
a man whose values do not need a witness
to be real.
