ONYE MA UCHE CHUKWU
(Who Truly Knows the Mind of God?)
BY INEKE BSC
Who truly knows the mind of God?
You hunted the poor, maimed the needy,
tore them open with shattered vows.
Onye makwanu uche Chukwu?
They fled—not from fear,
but because the world tilts against them.
Life waits for no trembling knees.
Ọsọ ndụ adịghị agwụ ike.
Like a fatherless child,
they dare not linger.
Survival is the only birthright
the robbers could not steal.
But onye makwanu uche Chukwu?
One day, that nobody’s son
will sit where kings once thundered.
Time is a silent architect,
laying stones beneath the noise.
Like kleptomaniacs in polished robes,
perfumed with borrowed glory,
they clutch what is not theirs,
feast on sweat they never shed,
and parade as saints among thieves.
Ozuru onye? Onye ka ozukwuru?
No throne stands
without Heaven’s silent nod.
Pause if you must—
but never surrender.
When the road turns to stone,
quitting becomes betrayal.
Anyị amaghị uche Chukwu.
Yet our peace rests in this truth:
Mmadụ abụghị Chukwu.
So we endure.
We work.
We hope.
Dika anyị na-atụkwasị Chukwu obi,
because one with God
is always the majority.
