My first day on the Garden,
Even though I knew little about flowers,
My eyes found her first… a beautiful jasmine.

Before I even learned her name,
I could already tell it would sound
Like a melody meant for my ears alone.

Suddenly, my eyes grew lazy
Unwilling to roam around the garden
When they could rest on such
Charming, modest beauty.

The fragrances of flirting gardenia, peony, lilac, lily,
And all the others tried to pull my attention,
But none of them mattered.
All my focus stayed on the jasmine.

So I approached the little jasmine
With a warm, gentle greeting:
“Good morning beautiful.”
