“MY FIRST COPY BOOK”

This generation is drifting backward.
Back to that “My First Copy Book” era
where pictures were spaced between every few words
just to keep a child from getting bored…

Back when your imagination had to grow teeth.
Back when the world inside your mind expanded
as the pictures disappeared.

But look around now.

We’re raising grown toddlers with barren imaginations.
Adults who cannot process a sentence
unless it’s dripping in over-designed visuals,
animations, filters, sound effects
like the story must spoon-feed them meaning
because their minds can no longer create worlds on their own.

We’ve become a horde of
“My First Copy Book Readers” in adult bodies
people fascinated by the simplest narration,
overwhelmed by subtlety,
incapable of depth unless it’s illustrated like a kindergarten manual.

This is not evolution.
This is regression wrapped in aesthetics.
A generation so overstimulated
they’ve lost the ability to imagine without instructions.

A Reflection from the SIMU Collection.

This generation sure feels like they're riding a wave of overstimulation. Back in the day, when we were kids, books were all about those spaced-apart words and pictures that encouraged you to just dive in. Now, it's like every sentence is wrapped in so many filters and animations, making it harder to just let your mind wander. A bit nostalgic for simpler times where creativity didn't need a million bells and whistles to exist.

I miss those 'My First Copy Book' days! They were so simple but so engaging. Now, we're all just floating in an overload of visuals and distractions, missing the magic of imagination without instructions.
