📍Accra, Ghana

You remind me of sunrise,
And butterflies dancing in golden rays,
Of birds in a chorus of freedom
flapping their wings
In endless blue and grey

You evoke memories of kites
Dangling in the sky
Of floating bicycles and grazed knees
Of ice cream melting
In a steamy day

You are a melody of sweet
beautiful things -
Like fireworks painting midnight
Of music and laughter and
the tap tap of children's feet

You remind me of colours
Like the golden glow of sunset
And splashes of paint on a waiting
canvas
Of rainbows lingering
At the end of a midday storm

Nothing rivals the memories
You inspire in me
A silent echo of something
forgotten...
Something forlorn, forbidden...
