He Answers

He smiles
When He notices your heart desire
The demands of the righteous seeking an attire
A plan He started and it has not expired
Because it's His plan for you to aspire

He warns
When His will your taste detests
And His plan your mind deliberately rejects
For myopic is man in this game of choice
Only the sheep that obey eventually rejoice

He answers
When your desire turns into a demand
When you approach Him waiting for His command
When you refuse to be drawn by sight
And His gift you accept without a fight

He supports
When the time comes and resources are scarce
For the promise He owns the earth is not a farce
He raises men who atone and stand in the gap
For he that trusts in the flesh will end in a trap

He listens
To every statement made in courting
To every promise made before Him in praying
Looking at your heart urging you to be discreet in planning
For only He knows tomorrow and no one questions when He does selecting

He laughs
When you are shy as he holds your hand
Muttering 'I do' while smiling with relish
Your heart thumping, craving for a home with all the lush
His, racing, thinking of the night beforehand

He glances away
As you both stand at home, left to yourselves
Divested of all the paraphernalia of the day's celebration
You both, unclad, perusing His beautiful crafts, His perfect creation
Smiling, touching, urging, hmmm......

He's concerned
At her first sickness, a type of fever
Knowing the end is joy like a river
Keeping His promise to Him a task
Knowing your fears but hearing what you ask

He observes
When the day comes and your body is in pain
Watching keenly as the nurses urge you push
Standing by your side whispering 'Relax you're mine'
And soon the bundle arrived gently without a hush

He rejoices
When the bundle of joy you wrapped in clothes
Your pain gone and fear breaks into a smile
Your news attracts well-wishers without a bile
There the cycle continues as the bundle begins his bathe
