BATTLEFIELD OF THE SOUL

In the depths of my chest, a war rages on,
A battle between two foes, forever strong
My brain, a fortress of logic and reason's might
Clashes with my heart, a flame that burns through the night.
The brain, a sceptic, questions every move,
weighs the pros and cons, with a calculating groove.
It warns of dangers, of risks and of strife,
And urges caution, a careful, measured life.
But the heart, a rebel, beats to it's own drum,
Follows its passion, and lets emotions become.
It leaps with faith, into the unknown's sea,
And trusts that the universe will set It free.
The brain says, "Wait, be patient, don't be rash".
But the heart cries, " Now, take the leap and dash."
The brain wants control, a predictable plan,
But the heart yearns for freedom, to take a chance, to expand.
Which one to follow? The brain's wise, cautious way?
Or the hearts wild, adventurous, seize-the-day?
Perhaps the answer lies in finding a balance true,
A harmony between the brain and the heart, anew.
For when they work together, in perfect sync and time.
The battlefield of the soul becomes a sanctuary sublime.
