An Endless Assignment

Sometimes you choose to be assigned
And other times you don't give your consent
Ever before conception and birthing
We bear the burden to be at the peak
Pick up challenges that ordinarily are vain and scary

With a cosigner the task may be of ease
And chemistry that first seem pleasant
Turning to an equation, the unbalanced kind
like many so mean and very unkind

A separate creature with diverse needs shows up
Skills to nurture is naturally acquired with no time
Needs and necessities of a new number increases
Care, worries, health, feeding and all...
Many nights past without the eyelids resting

Then age stands up for all at last
Growing up seem yet another challenge Conflicting interest and divergent opinions
Clashes born of disagreement
Some of which may last a lifetime
even if one party presents a resolution plan
The other my not buy it cheap
Parting ways and forgetting the bond
Motherhood...
