Lagos: A Captured City
The local government elections in Lagos are just weeks away.
But don’t be fooled—there’s no competition here.
One party owns it all.
Lagos is a one-party state—not by choice, but by force.
A chairman will emerge, not through truth but through lies wrapped in colourful banners and noise.
After his "victory," there will be celebration—not by the people, but by those waiting to feast on our collective pain.
He’ll sit on that chair—not to serve, but to siphon.
He will steal enough to feed his bloodline for generations, while we survive on potholes and promises.
What’s our gain?
Silence.
Emptiness dressed as hope.
We are not clueless—we see it all.
We are just helpless, trapped in a system built to silence resistance.
Lagos is no longer for the people.
It is for a godfather and his loyal circle.
And now, like clockwork, they’re out again—painting fake realities, dancing on podiums, buying our future with peanuts.
And we?
We shake our heads, murmur our anger, but never stand.
I wonder… will we ever truly rise for what is right?
