If the earth could sing,
If they waves could speak
If time could flip back

I'd walk a thousand miles with you,
Living, truly living
The good, and the rest
Never wondering why
You were taken,
Without a moment's notice

If I could pay the ferry
For just a while with you
Hand in hand
Traipsing God's own earth
Life and limp would mean nothing

Daddy you were,
Every step
The way paved by your selfless acts
For to call you father
A sacrilege too scarred for words

You slip and feel into oblivion
A place, were I to reach my hand
I'd catch void

Your voice, a soothing reminder
Of the gentle you
Even while gruff,
You slid a private smile
Inclined to motivate,
Inspire,
'Cos that's how you were

A year ago since you walked the path
and never looked back
Your journey complete, your transaction severed

The One who sees all, knows all
Caters to my desire,
To see, hold,
And dance to the endless music
Of eternity

With you
