LONELY DAYS Sadness crawled like a snake The moon ceased her light And the stars hide for shame The cricket stopped their warming noise As tears stream down my sagging cheeks All good to honor a lonely poise. Lonely nights They are dark and silent Only the dining sound of my plights No moon to shine No stars to play I become a deadly-sorrowful shrine.
